Wedding Day: He who finds

He who finds a wife, has found a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord. The day was filled with soo many things that I love...let me start listing them: I love my cousin's wedding dress, It was a lovely sequinned dress with a sloping wrap that fitted her like a second skin. It had a lovely thin veil that was like cobwebs spun in a pattern, and she was soooo beautiful (am tired of using that word, but it is soo appropriate). I love the cool look her groom was in, the smooth suit, and the lovely smile with tears in his eyes. I love the ties the grooms men were wearing. I love the dresses we had on - so glad I was part of the train. I love the vows they exchanged - I had to fight tears several times during the service. It didnt help that I look so much like the bride and everyone was staring at me and wondering where I sprung from. and you know when I cry - my face just screws up, and I didnt want to spoil the lovely makeup I had on. I love the pictures we took afterwards at the

Work! Work! Work!

Everyday, I wake up tired... I sleepwalk through my morning routine - brush my teeth, bath, dress up, grab my laptop bag, and go out on the road. Most times the day hasn't even begun to dawn yet. I grab an okada, to the major busstop, then enter a danfo bus, or most times, an 'agege bread' bus - those ones that have raised roofs inside, that make you think that they were constructed only for tall, long people. I finally 'wake up' around 8.00 am, and its a good thing because work starts at 9.00. I leave by 6.00pm, and take another okada to another major bus park to board the convenient means of transport that our governor has so kindly disrupted our lives to provide - BRT. I play sudoku on my phone throughout the bus ride (I admit, sometimes I doze off, but I always try to get a window seat so I can at least lean on the sill). Then I take another okada to my home. Most times I get home by 8.30pm, but I could be early and arrive at 7.45pm. After two months of this, I

Yesterday I attended a naming ceremony of a friend. The Genesis of that is a long one, but let me try and summarize it. She got pregnant in her fourth year. Her boyfriend decided the best thing to do was get married - that is rare these days, as there are many abortion doctors available. You would think it ended well - guy marries girl, they finish school, and apart from their certificates, have also a certificate in parenthood, but no, it didn't end that way. Her parents refused to let her marry him because of religion. I know what you are thinking - muslim guy to christian girl (or vice versa), right? Wrong. She is from a Jehovah Witness home, and he is from an Anglican home. That should not cause any friction, since they are both Christians, right? Wrong! Her parents sent her out. But God was on her side - my whole (my aunt took her in, catered for her) family stood by her - attended the naming ceremony of her baby girl yesterday. My mum and I had tears in our eyes, we were so f

True or False

1. Wifey 2. Baby Girl 3. Side Piece 4. Jump Off 1) Wifey is the sexiest, most successful and most respected of all the women. She is loved, needed and wanted by her man...she is VIRTUALLY IRREPLACEABLE. She is the girl that the guy loves and will always love, he never wants to see her with another man....BUT he will cheat on her with Baby Girl until he is mature enough to realize that if he gets caught or fucks up in any way and loses Wifey, he would be screwed, and NEVER be happy again. Wifey gets along with mom, is independent, never nags, loves to dress sexy for her man, can cook and loves to keep a clean house. Wifey gets called 5 or 6 times a day. Drawback of Wifey, she loves public displays of affection...which might interfere with the acquisition of a Side Piece. 2) Baby Girl is ALWAYS just as hot as wifey and usually has a very active social life...she IS replaceable, thinks she's the next Wifey, but will only be Wifey if an extreme disaster takes place. Baby Girl gets some
